Photos released by Vatican Media show the Pope speaking with mothers accompanying their babies, writing a message, and baptizing a newborn baby.

This update comes after Holy See said mid-Thursday that the Pope ‘rested well overnight’ and that ‘the clinical picture is progressively improving.’
‘May our dear shepherd and all those in need of healing experience the comfort of Christ,’ said Archbishop Timothy Broglio, the president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
‘This morning after having breakfast, [Pope Francis] read some newspapers and resumed work,’ Bruni added. ‘Before lunch, he went to the chapel of his private apartment, where he spent time in prayer and received the Eucharist.’
The Pope has dealt with sciatica, colon surgey and knee pain of late.
Pope Francis will be hospitalized for ‘some days,’ according to the Holy See Press Office director.
